Harry Potter and the Wittiest Sequel Tweets

In anticipation of tonight’s release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince premiere, Twitter is abuzz about the world’s favorite wizard. Fans have been hash-tagging (a Twitter tool for associating a tweet with a particular subject) Potter-related topics all week, boasting their ticket purchases, planning their costumes for the midnight showing and otherwise expressing their excitement.

In a more organized effort, fan site The Harry Potter Alliance (founded by Harry and the Potters’ Paul DeGeorge and coiner of the phrase “WWDD” or “What Would Dumbledore Do?”) is attempting to ring in the sixth film with a Twitter takeover, encouraging Twitterers to post “#Dumbledore” in each of their tweets “to remember that the value of love that Dumbledore taught is what we need in our lives and this world right now.”

Others, struck with panic about the end of the Potter era that looms just a few years ahead after the double dose of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, are tweeting away with their best comical predictions for the future of Harry. A sizable flurry of posts hash-tagged “#HarryPotterSequels” offers clever ideas for titles for yet another sequel, and so that you don’t have to sift through dozens of un-funny tweets, here’s a list of Paste’s favorites:
