Meet the Bloggers – Quixotic Quinn
You know that question that everyone asks: What’s your Patronus? Well, I have a somewhat different answer than most. Hi, my name is Quinn, and my Patronus is a phoenix.
Really, that says so much about me, but let me tell you a few more specifics.
My name is Quinn, and I’m an unabashed Slytherpuff. Well, ok. I’m really a Hufflepuff first and foremost, but I have some strong Slytherin tendencies. I’ve always been loyal, to ideas, to people, to love itself. I grew up in the middle of Omaha, Nebraska, a city girl with a love of people.
I’ve had many jobs – retail monkey, park ranger, and currently, I work in politics as the Clerk of the Transportation Committee in the Connecticut General Assembly, and help out local candidates. I love government. I really believe that we can come together and create a country and a world where we can all live together. Maybe it’s a bit optimistic, but I’ve always believed in it.
Back to the phoenix, is it starting to make more sense? My life is full of change. I’m stronger when I change. I’ve had to go through a lot of things to get where I am, but I think I’m a stronger person out the other end of it.
Now, all seriousness aside, I’m a certified geek. I met my fiancée in an online RPG (Anyone heard of Milliways Bar?),
I’ve travelled to cons, to the Quidditch World Cup, and I’ve read and written plenty of fanfic. My first fandom was Ender’s Game, and I’ve dabbled in many, many others. I’m also very much out as a geek at my job. It’s always hilarious when people come up to me and say ‘hey, I know you’re a geek, so you’ll appreciate this’.
That’s really it, when it comes to me. I’m pretty simple, really. My blogs generally cover politics, LBGT issues, and sometimes just things that catch my eye. I actually look forward to talking and interacting with all of you. Please feel free to drop me a comment at any time!
