Introducing… Portkey!

Ladies and Gentlemen, witches and wizards, I have an announcement to make!

I know that many of you will be attending Leaky Con in Florida in a couple weeks. However, like many others of you, I will not be able to attend the con. Alas!

However, never fear, Portkey is here! I do hope that all of you remember your Magical Items lessons, but if you were sleeping in class, let me remind you. A Portkey is an everyday item, in this case, your computer or phone, which can transport you to another place to meet up with others. That is what we’re doing with this quasi-con. We’re transporting you to a place where you can connect with other HP fans, the HPA, and have fun in the process.

What does this mean, though? From July 13th through the 17th, we will be having special programs, Livestreams, and contests for all of you who cannot find a Floo or a broom to Florida. We’ll have a Harry Potter trivia contest, a scavenger hunt throughout the HPA’s social media, a special Livestream showing of the documentary “We are Wizards”, discussions about the film and Pottermore and more special surprises throughout the con. Participation in everything will earn your House points towards the House Cup, so bring all of your friends! We will post information on this blog, our twitter at @hpaportkey and our Facebook page here. If you have questions about anything, please contact us by either of those means!

So don’t be sad, fellow witches and wizards! Grab a Portkey and join us for some online fun.
