Let’s Make It Better Together

Make It Better–this is the overall theme for our fight against the Bullying Horcrux.  We live in a society where people are harassed for who they are, and it is a painful way to live.  This harassment and ridicule is especially troubling for teenagers.  Maybe it’s true that as we grow up, we learn to own the things that make us outcasts.  Maybe it does “get better.”  But just letting this terrible situation get better over time isn’t enough.  Someone needs to make it better.  Make It Better for LGBTQ youths being bullied in school. Make It Better for LGBTQ fangirls and fanboys of any fan community.  Make It Better for the couples who want nothing more than to legally say “I Do” to the ones they love.

With the Gay-Straight Alliance Network, the HPA is pledging to Make It Better.  We are here to say “No more!”  No more bullies.  No more ignorance.  No more thoughtlessness.  No more intolerance.  No more inequality.  No more hate.  We will Make It Better.  We will Make It Better together.  We will Make It Better now!

We are asking for you to take steps to Make It Better in 2 ways:
1. Do you solemnly swear that you are up to some good?  Then sign the Oath!
2. Help educate those around you!  The HPA staff has created a Make It Better video.  Check it out!

We want to hear what you have to say!  Make a response video to ours.  In it, talk about why LGBTQ rights are important to you.  Are you a member of the LGBTQ community?  Is your best friend, parent, sibling, aunt or uncle, neighbor a member of the LGBTQ community?  Do you believe that everyone should have the freedom to love? Or is it another reason all together?  Then tell us how you make it better now.  We want to know what you are doing.
