You’ve Signed the Petition, Now Take the Next Step

We are now 12 days into the battle against the Starvation Wages Horcrux, and we have already made incredible progress. In most chocolate production, morals are thrown away in favor of profits, and workers are not paid enough money to allow them to afford necessities like food. In some cases, especially with children, these workers aren’t paid at all. We do not want Time Warner to sell unethical chocolate in Harry’s name, and you all are making your voices heard. Since the petition opened on October 31st, we have gotten over 5,000 signatures. If you haven’t signed yet, you can do so here.

The second phase of the campaign is mailing a real letter to the Time Warner offices. A letter is a powerful symbol that shows Time Warner you care–physical evidence of a growing group of people who support Fair Trade products. Before Harry received the letters inviting him to Hogwarts he felt alone and ignored, like he wasn’t important to anyone. When the Dursleys’ house was flooded with letters, Harry knew that someone out there was paying attention to him. Those letters changed his life. By writing that farmers need to be treated fairly, YOU can help change lives. We want the offices of Time Warner to be flooded with letters, just like what happened at 4 Privet Drive.

Clicking here will take you to the sample letter on our website, which you can edit with your own personal story. Of course, this is a house cup competition! Your house gets:

* 5 points if you sign the petition
* 50 points for mailing in a physical
* 100 points for making a video of your letter-writing experience and uploading it to youtube as a video response to this video:

Get your friends or parents to send letters, too! Have a letter writing party! Anything you can do to collect more letters will help–the more letters we send to Time Warner, the more powerful our request is going to be.

This campaign has already been so incredible and exciting! Thank you for the work you’ve done on Fair Trade so far, and we hope you are gearing up for the Deathly Hallows movie, your Lumos Party, and taking this Horcrux fight to your local theater. We’ll see you there!

I know it’s not November anymore, and I’m a bit late (my letter has been sitting waiting to be posted for well over a week now I think) but hey the fight against this horcrux is still going. I just wanted to clarify the postal address for sending our letters to time warner? I may sound like an idiot, but I just want to be sure I’ve gotten it right because I don’t want to have to explain it to my parents if the letter comes back to me because I had the address wrong (they just don’t get this stuff… and I prefer to just not go there. I have other people in my life who understand why I’m involved in the HPA so I just don’t discuss these matters with my parents).
So, I’m assuming we can just put what’s at the top of the sample letter on the front of the envelope and add a ‘United States of America’ to the bottom for international post?

Ok thank you. It’s a bit hard for me I don’t know what the usual format is for US addresses so I was a little confused. Thanks.
