This is not a bullshit charity, watch their videos. They take the enthusiasm of Harry Potter to tackle world problems.

What have we actually done? Oh, we have just sent 5 planes filled with crucial aid supplies to Haiti. We’ve gotten people all over the world to donate thousands of books, including 4000 to a youth village in Rwanda. The HP Alliance have raised awereness and made activists out of teens and people who might otherwise not know so much about the horrors going on in our world and therefore not care as much as they do. We are the first fandom to pioneer this kind of large scale charity organisation and we hope that our example will lead the way for other fandoms to do the same. We have already seen some of that awesome team work when we raised $125 000 for the planes to go to Haiti. So don’t you come in here and try to put us down without knowing the facts about our organisation. We have just as much right to win as the other 500 charities competing. They might only be “stupid kid’s books” to you but to me they saved my life.
