Make a Video For Emma Watson (and more!)

Like Hermione Granger who advocated for fair and equal wages, Emma Watson is representing “People Tree” in promoting Fair Trade fashion – a way to buy awesome clothing and know for sure that the people it came from were treated with fair wages and not exploited (as is too often the case).

Emma has invited you to show her our support for Fair Trade and social justice by sending her videos asking why she is so passionate about using fashion as a tool to help reduce poverty. Or perhaps you’re wondering why chose People Tree? Was she influenced by playing Hermione to stand up for social justice? Please make your video and send it to askemma@peopletree.co.uk – she’ll be replying via video to the best video questions.

In the video, say “Hi Emma, I’m (your name) from the Harry Potter Alliance,” ask your question (and have fun doing it! :-) ) and then also please post the video as a response to this video. I know this is super duper last minute as the videos are due at the end of the day on Sunday January 17 (UK Time) and we’ll hopefully have more opportunities to hear from Emma in the future!

Speaking of working for social justice and against poverty, this Monday is Martin Luther King Jr Day. Please celebrate Dr. King by finding a place to volunteer right here and then join me for a “Late Night Snack with Andrew Slack” right here, Monday January 18 at 9:45 pm EST. It’s going to be pretty awesome!

Our thoughts and prayers continue to go to the people of Haiti and all of their loved ones. Please keep your eyes, ears, and hearts open for more on this from the HPA and the whole Harry Potter fandom in the coming days!

Until then, the Weapon we have is Love,

Andrew Slack – Harry Potter Alliance Executive Director
