Announcing the new HPA Book Club!

The Harry Potter Alliance is proud to announce our new HPA Book Club!  We understand that you may have questions so below is a FAQ.

Why start a book club? The HPA was founded on the inspiration of a certain book series.  One of our main challenges has been how to support the spread of literacy, both locally and globally.  Forming a book club for our members seemed like a logical and fun next step.

How will this work online? The HPA Book Club now has a group along side the houses and chapters.  In there you’ll be able to post reviews, discuss the book, and make recommendations for future book choices.  We’re also encouraging people to make video reviews.  At the end of the reading period we’ll be holding a live Ustream chat to discuss the book and take questions from members.

How will books be selected and are we going to read HP? It’s totally up to you! The HPA staffers have already picked Write Naked by Peter Gould as our first choice, but our next book choice is up to you.  Post your suggestions on the book club forum and we’ll eventually incorporate them into a poll so all members have a chance to vote.

When will we officially be starting this?  How much time do we have to read the book? Officially, we will start reading Write Naked by Peter Gould on Sunday April, 26th. You’ll have three weeks to read the book before we hold a Ustream chat where we can discuss the book live.
