Darfur Update

President Obama has named a special envoy to Sudan! It is difficult to imagine the stakes being much higher. There are over one million people in Darfur who may die in the immediate future. Let me say that again: there are over one million people who may die in Darfur in the immediate future.

I know we’ve talked a lot about Darfur in the past. But this is different. Thirteen aid agencies have been forced out. There are people who Omar al-Bashir, his army, and janjaweed militia have forced from their homes – now Bashir orders out the aid agencies that were their lifeblood. I don’t know if you can imagine this, but there are over one million people that were depending on those agencies. Obama’s administration seems keen to do something, but without your calls to 1-800-GENOCIDE they won’t see that they have the support of the people to do something. Please keep showing your support. For instance, if you’re in Boston, there is an emergency rally in Government Center from 4 to 6 pm.

Find rallies, start rallies, change your facebook status, twitter, make youtube videos, etc.

Over one million people’s lives are at risk. Their voices are being stifled. We’ll have to speak for them. Let’s do it! The Weapon We Have Is Love – for now, get signed up on every one of these networks:
