Two Thousand Great: A Year In Review

2008 for the HP Alliance was amazing. Here’s a quick year in review:

• We started the year off by getting mentioned on JK Rowling’s web site!

• HPA members began amazing chapters and signing up for staff positions. (and you still can!)

Wizard Rock the Vote registered close to 900 new voters.

• We celebrated Coming Out Day and took a stand for same sex marriage in California. And while Proposition 8 passed, we are only more motivated than ever to work for marriage equality.

• To date, we’ve raised over $15,000 for Civilian Protection of thousands of people in Darfur and Burma. You have until January 31 to give right here!

• The Whomping Willows’ HPA chapter, GRAWP, raised $1500 for aid to Haiti.

• We’ve continued to educate on everything from human rights to the power of our creativity through podcasts, vlogging, house parties, speaking at conferences, blogging, forums conversations, and more!

• When Aegis Trust sent 10,000 signatures to the UN Security about war criminals in Sudan, over three quarters of those signatures came from us.

• We spent eleven days of working to breakthrough our Muggle Mindset and into the magic of our creativity.

• We helped promote the release of a new WaldeMart video

• We had a “new tshirt design” contest where you can order a new HPA shirt here!

We have been changing the world and we thank you for being a part of it. We are so excited for 2009, so please keep a look out for some amazing projects coming from us and remember to write us if you want to get more involved!
