Or the bees. When small creatures start to disappear in droves, it’s a sign that there is something dramatically off. Whether that something is a giant basilisk living within the walls of Hogwarts or unsustainable farming methods that are destroying our planet – the point is, the fact that bees are rapidly dying faster than ever in the US and now in Europe too, points to the need for a better way of farming. This article proposes one.

Thanks for sharing this! I don’t think most people realize how important bees are, and how big of a deal this is to our every day lives. And I’m glad they mention amphibians dying off. There are many signs of ecosystem collapse going on all over the world. That’s very, very bad.

We ARE affected by these things.

And I really am glad more people are paying attention to the harmful side of our current big business farming practices. They aren’t sustainable and are creating many environmental problems. But it isn’t an easy fix either, given the huge and growing demand for food. This is an issue we should keep watching. :)

That’s so sad about the bees. There was a friend of a friend of mine that I was hanging out with one day and he was squishing bumblebees!! I got so mad at him. I tried to explain colony collapse to him but he simply didn’t care! Some people really astound me! People who have the ” muggle mindset” and just don’t care about the environment or anything!
