Story Mashup
I think this person’s idea was quite brilliant. They’ve gone into a great story and they’ve taken out a great speech about the power of stories with a montage of great moments in stories. Modern myths actually. You can view the video here. Please share any thoughts on this video and how we could encourage the making of mashup videos like this one?
In the mean time, check out the original video and let me ask you this: what Harry Potter scene do you envision this speech being necessary to give? And what character do you envision giving it?

On their Unlimited Enthusiasm tour with Harry and the Potters this summer, Uncle Monsterface showed a similar but (in my opinion) highly superior mashup. It pretty much runs the gamut of my all time favorite movies. It was so empowering and inspiring:

(sorry for the shoddy quality, I filmed it on a whim and as far as I know, this is the only footage of this video that exists on the internet. Uncle Monsterface should really put up the original footage)
As for Harry Potter, I could picture this speech being given to Harry at the end of the fifth book. I don’t know who would give the speech though. I would say Ron, as he sort of mirrors Samwise’s role, but for some reason I can’t picture him giving such a rousing speech.

I think I could see ron or hermione saying giving a speech like this at the end of the 6th book. After Harry discovers he has to find and destroy horcruxes, yet he has no idea how and the task seems near impossible.
I did enjoy the mash-up a lot! Ones that had other characters speaking too would be cool. Like taking lines from other LOTR movies, movies like Big Fish, and other fantasy movies. Maybe even blending those with real life heros and political figures would be AWESOME.

I think this would be at the end of OotP. I can picture either Dumbledore or Harry saying this.

In Deathly Hallows, when Ron leaves Harry and Hermione, just gives up. I think he could really have used this speech. Maybe Harry would have given it, or maybe Hermione. A joint one would be cool, too.

I would say Hermione would give this to Harry after Ron leaves and after Harry reads Rita’s book on Dumbledore. Either that or Dumbledore would give it to him at the end of OotP or in HBP when DD tells Harry the prophesy is meaningless and ends with Harry saying he knew the difference between being dragged into an arena to face a lion or walking in with his head held high.
