Wizarding Elections
So the US and Canada are getting ready for elections. Did the Wizarding World have elections? Was Rufus Scrimgeur elected or appointed? And if appointed, by whom?

If I had to guess I’d say they’re appointed, and then either members of the Wizengamat, Ministry or the wizarding public can give, basically a vote of no confidence, at which time the peson maybe be removed from office and replaced. Given Percy’s behavior, and the fact that any sort of election is never mentioned, it seems to be more of an internal politics sort of deal.

It seems to me to be an appointed deal, else the elections take place off-screen. It seems that one can hold office indefinitely until they resign, which I find intriguing. Fudge, for example, as mentioned in the 6th or 7th (I forget which) book, has been around for at least as long as the Muggle Prime Minister, and most likely before that.
