Please Send This Awesome Ecard For Mother's Day!
For Mother’s Day, please send this ecard to every mother you know.
One of the most powerful lessons in Harry Potter is that there truly is nothing more powerful than a mother’s love for her child. Voldemort underestimated it and it led to his downfall.
“If there is one thing Voldemort cannot understand, it is love. He didn’t realize that love as powerful as your mother’s for you leaves its own mark. Not a scar, no visible sign…to have been loved so deeply, even though the person who loved us is gone, will give us some protection forever.”
Unfortunately mothers in the US are continually denied maternity leave, are paid such low wages that they have to work three jobs and not have time or energy for their children, are denied health coverage that would give them access to a doctor for themselves and their children, and study after study shows that employers consistently discriminate against mothers while hiring.
The HPA is working with Mom’s Rising to make sure that Mother’s Day is not a silly Hallmark holiday where we pay lip service to moms. Please send out this ecard to any mother you know (including your own or a Mrs. Weasley in your life). Celebrate mother’s everywhere by thanking them and together working for a world that honors the bond between mother and child as the sacred thing that it is.
