The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated an already rising tide of fear-based, ultra conservative leaders grounded in white supremacy and oppression. It’s an onslaught that has led much of the world to high levels of division and trauma. We desperately need a revitalization of civic imagination, and fandom is perfectly positioned to rise to the challenge.
